PastForward is the premier educational and networking event for those in the business of saving places. This year, at PastForward 2015, we’ll begin a year-long celebration of the National Historic Preservation Act’s 50th anniversary with programming that celebrates and honors the past while looking decisively forward toward our next 50 years. In the nation’s capital we will convene the full, diverse and expansive constituency of preservation players from individuals to elected officials, federal agencies to architects, scholars to activists.

Nominations for Glass Magazine Awards

Glass Magazine is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Glass Magazine Awards: The People, Products and Projects. The prestigious glass and metal industry awards program recognizes the most innovative products and services the industry has to offer, in addition to the most innovative projects completed within the past year. Living Glass - 2013

In 2013 the Society of Glass Technology will be heading back to Cambridge. Cambridge is home to one of the world’s most famous seats of learning. The conference will be held at Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge.

SEPTEMBER 11-13,2013

The three threads of science, art and technology will be covered: science will cover key themes from novel materials and fabrication routes to structure and properties; technology will include areas such as the environment, fuel usage, modelling and glass applications; and art and history will make reference to the long traditions of stained glass in the colleges and religious buildings of Cambridge.

Care and Conservation of Historic Windows Workshop: Oct. 3-4, 2012

Care and Conservation of Historic Windows Workshop: Oct. 3-4, 2012This two-day intensive workshop offered by the Association of Preservation Technology takes place at Savannah Technical College in Georgia. In addition to hands-on work, participants will perform a conditional assessment on the windows of a local historic church. Registrations accepted for Workshop, or Workshop Plus Annual Conference.

Furnace Solutions/ Conference Announced

Furnace Solutions 7 will be held on Thursday 14th June 2012.

The Furnace Solutions conferences have now become a regular fixture in the glassmaking calendar.

Last year’s sell out meeting hosted almost 100 participants – one third of whom were from outside the UK - reflecting the increasing international interest in this unique event. The annual Furnace Solutions conferences deal entirely with ‘practical’ glassmaking issues and are targeted at glassmakers, furnace equipment and specialist materials suppliers. The conference’s informal format allows delegates to share their experiences, and discuss solutions to some of today’s glass melting challenges.
